There is something about a classic Nike sneaker that makes it easy to recognise, even decades after its original release. The Waffle Racer is one of those designs, with its slim shape and distinctive waffle-patterned outsole. Now, NikeSKIMS is giving the 1970s running shoe a new look, bringing it into a collection that takes the collaboration beyond the studio.
The NikeSKIMS Waffle Racer marks the latest addition to the brand’s growing footwear range, following the NikeSKIMS Rift. The original low-profile racing shape and waffle traction pattern remain, while new two-tone colourways and NikeSKIMS detailing on the tongue, heel and sock liner give the sneaker a fresh finish. It will be available in three colour combinations.

Kim Kardashian, SKIMS co-founder and chief creative officer, says the Waffle Racer is a shoe she has always returned to, describing it as easy to wear and a design that never goes out of style. For this version, the intention was to preserve the details that made the original so familiar while introducing a distinct NikeSKIMS look.
The sneaker also arrives alongside Retro Sport, a new apparel collection inspired by vintage athletic styles. It brings together relaxed silhouettes, athletic detailing, vintage graphics and layering pieces, extending NikeSKIMS’ range beyond the fitted essentials and studio wear introduced in earlier collections.

There are several new pieces to look out for. The Vintage Sport Fleece (featured image) is made from heavyweight French terry, with a relaxed fit and vintage-inspired graphics. The Matte assortment also gets new lace-up and contrast-trim styles, while the outerwear selection expands with a hooded puffer jacket, a puffer wrap and a half-zip coaches jacket.
The collection gives the Waffle Racer a wider wardrobe to sit alongside, bringing footwear, body-contouring essentials and more relaxed sportswear together. It is also a chance to see another side of NikeSKIMS, with the vintage athletic references adding something different to the collaboration’s earlier studio-focused collections.

What I find particularly interesting is the choice of sneaker. Rather than introducing an entirely new design, NikeSKIMS has gone back to one of Nike’s recognisable running styles. The Waffle Racer already has a distinct identity, and the updated colourways and detailing give it a new place within the collection without losing the features that made it familiar.
The launch follows NikeSKIMS’ recent expansion into China, as the collaboration continues to reach new markets.
The NikeSKIMS Waffle Racer will be available in Singapore from 10 November 2026, followed by the full Retro Sport collection on 17 November. Both will be available through Nike Singapore online, at Nike Orchard Road and Nike Jewel, with selected retail locations to follow.
